Terrific. Radiant. Humble.

Filed under the category of Things I Can’t Afford this month is one of a limited series of original sketches from the Garth Williams -illustrated edition of E.B. White’s classic Charlotte’s Web.

The art is up for auction, and the bidding is expected to hover around the $20,000 to $30,000-mark for each illustration.

For those of us who can’t quite swing $20,000 art yet, the cover works are currently on display at Heritage Auctions New York City at 445 Park Avenue, in what’s apparently called the “Heritage Window on Park Avenue.” (Not all place names can be Xanadu, I guess).
